all the pretty horses

Hey there! C’mon, let’s go meet the horses. The girl pictured above is named Tsungani (sounds like the word tsunami).  It is an american indian name that means ‘perfect one’.  I think she has the prettiest, exotic looking eyes plus she is super sweet.  She has a red coat and long red mane.

Next up, is Lakota who is a buckskin.  Funny story, he is actually the baby of Donna, the last horse you will meet.  Randy actually sold him to a couple about 4 years ago and they trained him and rode him quite a bit.  Unfortunately, they could no longer keep him, they called Randy and asked if he wanted Lakota back.  Of course, he said yes!! He is a beautiful horse and is actually bigger than the two girls! He is a sweetheart and loves affection!

They get plenty of exercise everyday going up and down our big steep hill.  I mean, look how muscular they are!

So, apparently, Donna didn’t want her picture taken. But, she is the second one going up the hill.  She is Lakota’s mom.  She looks a lot like Tsungani but has a longer body and black mane and tail.  Just so you know, she is the queen! She gets to eat first and the others follow her lead!  She is the top horse and she lets the others know it! It’s funny how one animal becomes the dominant one.  We see it in our goats and chickens too.  Horses are amazing animals!  They are strong, graceful, and beautiful.  Thanks so much for stopping by the farm today and meeting some of our extended family! -amy
